Feeling wistful of the passing year and the memories it will be bringing, I contented myself slumping on my bed on the remaining hours of 2010 hoping to find a comforting rest and eventually find a sound sleep (again) before the New Year’s Eve mass. Unfortunately I woke up a couple of minutes after 12 midnight and had missed all the merriments the New Year brings…
The colorful firecrackers display was almost gone. The smoky air was all that was left plus a bunch of smiling passerby and the sound of firecrackers blasting every minute. The street was a bit noisy unlike those of the previous years.
The recurrent rain showers have undeniably hampered the ways by which people celebrate the occasion outside their homes. I just hoped it did not affect at all the parishioners who will be celebrating the Feast of Mary, the Mother of God.
